NFGFC Tournament Registration

Post by tin can »

For the last couple of tournaments we tried to work around folks having to check in the morning of the tournament. Several issues arose. As a result, we are going back to the way things have always been done. Every team will be required to check in at tournament headquarters the morning of the tournament.

I'll be at Jerrys Bait and Tackle early Saturday morning. See y'all there.

my partner isn't going to like that. She may even decide to stay at home and watch Hannah Montana.

A bit of clarification is probably in order.

One of the major reasons for requiring registration on tournament morning boiled down to accountability, in several areas:

1. We do a cash payout at the end of the day. We need the cash in hand the morning of the tournament.

2. We need to know who is actually fishing. If teams pre register, we don't know if they're actually on the water.

3. Accounting for all participants at the end of the day (this equates to liability). We need to know all participants are accounted for at the end of the day. In the past there have been several teams that let us know they weren't coming back for the weigh in. we have no problem with this, as long as we know everyone is ok. If we have a team not accounted for we're going looking.

What we will allow is for at least one member from each team come to the tournament headquarters and register the team the morning of the tournament. This team member must also be a club member. That team member can submit a registration form and the team entry fee for the day. The entry form must have contact information for all team members, and must be signed by all team members.

We have also designated Casey Cook as the check in person for the afternoon weigh in. A member from each team needs to check in with Casey when you return for the weigh in. This is the simplest way for us to account for everyone.

I will be providing contact information for myself, Steve, Casey, and Jerry's bait and Tackle at the registration Saturday morning. We would request if your team is not returning for the weigh in, please contact one of us and let us know.
