I had the pleasure of knowing Pogo. Sorry for your loss, JT. Pogo will surely be missed.

To have loved and then said farewell, is better than to have never loved at all.
For all of the times that you have stooped and touched my head, fed me my favorite treat and returned the love that I so unconditionally gave to you.
For the care that you gave to me so unselfishly.
For all of these things I am grateful and thankful.
I ask that you not grieve for the loss, but rejoice in the fact that we lived, loved and touched each others lives. My life was fuller because you were there, not as a master/owner, but as my FRIEND.
Today I am as I was in my youth. The grass is always green, butterflies flit among the flowers and the Sun shines gently down upon all of God's creatures.
I can run, jump, play and do all of the things that I did in my youth. There is no sickness, no aching joints and no regrets and no aging.
We await the arrival of our lifelong companions and know that togetherness is forever.
You live in our hearts as we do in yours. Companions such as you are so rare and unique.
Don't hold the love that you have within yourself. Give it to another like me and then I will live forever. For love never really dies, and you are loved and missed as surely as we are.

Dang Steve, I really hate that. I got a little misty eyed this morning as I read it and Sube's stanza. I sure miss Jill. Its amazing how everybody says get a new dog and it will help. It does but there will never be another Jill, and Im so sure , never another POGO. Sorry for your loss. Im glad you got to see her out. I havent even replaced Jill as Im afraid I cant have the time to make another Jill. Probably a mistake, but I want to be able to give my full attention to the next one. God bless the Taylor family and especially you Steve. You do so much for everyone and I hate to know youre going through this. Anybody who ever says how does one get so emotional about a dog, never had a Jill or a POGO!!!

JT I'm sorry to hear about POGO. She was a good dog and I know from watching the two of you, She was a good friend as well. She did love fishing, but it would not have been the same for her if it had not been fishing with you. The fact that She thought of you as special can only speak to the fact that She recognized something to be valued in you. I'm glad you had that last day together. We'll miss her.

Hate to hear that Steve; been there, and I feel for you. RIP POGO!
In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. And we will understand only what we are taught.

Hard times for sure....I'm sorry!
It may be that my sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

POGO and I want to thank each and everyone of you for your sympathetic posts.
A number of people called or e mailed also.
All you folks are kind and decent.
It is a pleasure to be associated with you.
POGO has peace, I have memories.
Thank you all.
Steve

THE EULOGY
Look not where I was
For I am not there
My spirit is free
I am everywhere
In the air that you breathe
In the sounds that you hear
Don't cry for me
My spirit is near
I'll watch for you
From the other side
I'll be the one running
New friends by my side
Smile at my memory
Remember in you heart
This isn't the end
It's a brand new start
Sorry for your loss
