Launched with my partner, Matt, from the Aucilla. Quickly found some slot trout over patchy bottom on throwing topwaters, then we moved in closer to shore to look for a kicker. About a 11, just as the rain started coming down, Matt had a blow-up and landed a fat 24" trout. At that point our stringer consisted of a 24" fish, 2 between 19-20", and two more between 18-19", so we decided to hit some oyster bars in search of a red. Caught two lower slot fish and missed a couple larger fish. Matt also had a tarpon take one of the points of a Gamkatsu 4x trebbel. Decided to hit one last spot near the mouth of the Aucilla in search of a red. After loosing yet another decent red, we decided it was time to head for the ramp....which is when it happened...the boat wouldn't start.
I cranked and cranked, to no avail. We did this for a few hours with nothing gained. Finally at about 4:00 she fires and we're off. My apologies to TC, JT, Warrior and any others who received phone calls or were sent to find us. Sorry for the incovenience, but your willingness to help us was much appreciated.
A good day fishing followed by a good fish fry...just wish we could have joined everyone at weigh-in in between.
In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. And we will understand only what we are taught.
Whooooo! Been there, done that, with you. Now I'm sure it wasn't me. Looks like a nice stringer. I wonder what they would have weighed? Better luck next time Showboat.

Nice Stringer of fish.
Glad you guys made it back safely.
I would like to use your thread to remind everyone in our tournaments to contact the launch site marina or a tournament official or any other member in the tournament in case of trouble.
BB and CT called in too. We knew not to worry.
In your case a rescue boat was dispatched.
Anyone not returning will be sought out. Please list your cell phone number and emergency contact number on your entry form. Also your intended launch site. If you change launch sites notify a tournament official.
P.S. Ashley and Junior volunteered as soon as they heard of the problem.
JT-we had left messages with TC as well as JBT prior 3:30 (I admit we left the other contact #'s you gave us in the truck ). I know TC's phone took a dump...so those messages weren't very helpfull either. At any rate, my apologies for the inconvenience.
In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. And we will understand only what we are taught.
