NFGFC Tournament July 12,2008
Butch and I signed in at JBT a few past 5 a.m. Headed off to Carrabelle
Launched at C-Quarters a little past 6.
Calm waters all the way to our first spot.
A few mullet jumping, a little fish movement on top. Started throwing topwater, got lots of strikes and all misses. Hooked up on a few blues and ladies.
Hopscotched on down to our main spot. Casey, KVD and the BassBoyz were already staked out. Managed one decent keeper here and there.
No good bite ever happened.
Got checked by FWC. The nicest smilingest most informative FWC officer we ever met.
A rather large dolphin took up residence a couple feet from our boat. He nailed every released fish until we left.
Went back toward the river. Set up on spotty bottom. Got a 20" red. Threw to a small swirl on some bait fish. The explosion from HELL came down on the topwater bait. The 5 foot spinner shark had the plug. Several jumps and numerous spins later the line broke.
Moved over to a small reef and set up a drift. Seas went from calm to 5 footers in just a couple minutes. The sky went black back to the west. We fired up the Yammy and headed south into the stormy waves. We had to go about a mile into the storm in order to make the turn and come to the river.
Had a few 50 mph gusts coming up the river, rain coming in sideways. Finally made it to the Carrabelle bridge to wait it out.
Back at the weigh in found out everyone got wet at least once some several different times.
Larry Cobb NFGFC quartermaster had a big pile of sausage dogs on the grill along with some homemade baked beans.
We missed all you folks who couldn't make it there.
Maybe we will see you next time.

Although we did not get the big fish we needed, all our backer fish were good. The highlight of the day was the porpoise hanging 2-3 feet from the boat looking for a handout for a couple hours.
Obviously he had been fed before.

Nice report JT. Hate the weather had negative impact on the tourney, but glad everyone made it out O.K.

Stratos vs SeaArk! I'm betting on the Stratos in that race.

The Stratos cannot run as shallow as the SeaArk. While he is running out, we will be running down.
Bye bye Stratos. And Casey is just too slow.

Jt, I can RUN in anything you'll RUN in,,,,, I just can't stop there
. Where I'm going I'll be fine
Hey Capt. K be ready to here it form JT51 if you and "B" catch some good fish,,,because if you go East or West your on his spot and if you go North your in Butch's spot
Looks to me like Steve should be the guide not Ashley
