To all my Thomas County friends

I am seriously considering acquiring a retail business in Thomasville. How would you local Thomas Countians rate Thomasville and Thomas Countys' local economy? What is the largest employer in Thomas County? Im guessing Archibold or the school system would be first but what would be first after that? I wonder how many industries (providing jobs of ten workers or more)? How active is your Chamber Of Commerce? Does anyone know how many people there are in the city alone and in the city/county combined?? Any and all information any of you can share will save me some footwork in my decision on whether to expand into Thomas County. Thanks Guys, BB

Frokm what I can tell with the folks I deal with the economy is pretty good as long as you're not getting into building houses. They got enough that are sitting empty.
As far as largest employers I would say probably Archibold, Flowers, Cleaver-Brooks, Hurst Boiler and maybe Siemens.

I represent several businesses in Thomasville. Most tell me the economy is pretty good, with spotty rough spots, housing being the big one. The biggest problem I hear from most of them is finding good help.

But it kinda depends on who you are in T'ville and the county as to whether they're interested in trying to get you in. Fact.

Thanks guys. I have secured the deal on the store in Thomasville but we are still negotiating on the real estate. If you guys see any 15-20K sq ft buildings for sale or any open lots in a commercial area, let me know, I may be interested in moving the dealership if I cant get the deal ironed out on the current location.
