Yes I speed so I am by nature a rule breaker I am not holier than thow.

I don't believe in situational ethics though.

I am sure we all do stuff we shouldn't.

But you will never hear me put a man down for having integrity it is to close to extinct already.
Then the question is do you have the integrity to go to the State Patrol office and get your speeding ticket? If not, then it is no different by your definition of situational ethics.
It really makes no difference to me one way or the other but tealing is the same as murder, either way you end up in the same place.
Like JT said how are they doing boat checks, they had 2 boats with beer in them that should have been caught by an inspector.

Sounds to me like somebody was given the choice to fess up before they were called out for the infraction. Although I'm sure the tourney is made up of very fine gentleman, I doubt they had a crisis of conscience over a beer. I would believe it if there were ever any of them that confess to icing the fish down to get them in the slot.

Tealing is not like muder at all there are folks that like to hunt ducks. In season it is not against the law. Now that your done putting them down your gonna go after me? I might not sleep tonight.
Yesterday it was taboo today it is normal what the heck will they be doing tomorrow?

Had they drank the 12th beer, then it would have been a mute point.
My philosophy is, 'leave no beer unopened".

I posted this on said forum - probably subject us to random lie detector tests and breathalyser tests
Playing the devils advocate

Rule 17 states: "Tournament official length for Redfish will be according to the STATE LAWS in the state in which that event is being held."

Florida Wildlife Commission states - "When a fish isn't allowed to be harvested, it must immediately be returned to the water free, alive, and unharmed. However, if a fish is allowed to be taken at a certain size limit, it's okay to temporarily possess it to measure it, as long as it is measured immediately after removing it from the water, and the fish is then immediately returned to the water free, alive, and unharmed if it is not a legal-size fish."

If one catches a redfish that is illegal - oversize by say 1/8"...per the rules and the honorable fisher persons that we are we should immediately release it - correct?

But if we haul the illegal fish around in an iced down livewell hoping it will shrink below the line - that is okay - right?

So if I had a beer and it's illegal - shouldn't one be allowed to toss it over board to make it legal?

Since transporting and icing an illegal fish is legal as long as it becomes legal in length at the official board...despite being in violation of a rule for a period of time - if the theory of ice really works :?:

My hats off to the guys that came forward, helluva thing to do

WAM, that should have been stealing, not tealing. My bad I misspelled a word. Don't worry about me going after you, I see no gain in it for me.. I was presenting my opinion on the subject, no need to get defensive.
