Looking for sit-on-top fishing kayak

Post by cmccord »

I am looking for a sit-on-top fishing kayak in the 12-14' range. I'd love to buy one new, but don't want to spend the new cost for one at this point. If anyone has one that they are not using often enough, please let me know.

Would like to stay as neutral in color as possible because I would likely use it to do some duck hunting as well.

Would like to stay under $500 for sure.

Email to caldwell@simpsonnurseries.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; preferably with pics.

http://www.fcka.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; has a classified section and so does http://www.jaxkayakfishing.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and they are the closest websties. You can also go to Wildereness Way and TNT to see if they have some used kayaks.

I checked with WIlderness Way a few weeks ago and they said they sell their used stuff sometime in August but don't know exactly when it will be and it usually goes quickly. I will try to stay in touch with them though. Thanks for the other websites. I will get to looking on them today. Having never fished from a kayak before and only seeing a few of the various models, do you recommend a particular brand/model for a novice kayaker?

If you get a chance to paddle some different brands and models, that would be the best way to find what you feel comfortable in. I really like my Ocean Kayak Prowler 13 and I really couldn't pass up the great deal I got here at Gander Mtn. I just have to keep telling myself not to take a ton of gear with me!!!! Next time down... Fly Rods Only!!!.... oh and maybe some flys for the fly rods........ :-D
Catch & Release Fish!!!!....... Not Criminals!

Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely try some out. I can sure see how the gear could be a pain. Think simple, pack simple. Just wish the fish were always that simple.
