Lanark 7/27

Post by BrogensDuck »

Headed out of Lanark just after sun-up to smooth glass water and no wind. Tried cruising the docks to no avail. Tried some around a few of the islands and landed 1 red, which seemed more random than anything. Lots of bait and mullet moving, but no tails...no bites. Ran to Marine Lab where the water and wind were still very quiet. Tough covering water without any current or wind. Ran trolling motor ALOT. Ran back East and picked up a 15.001" trout and nice red. Other takes were several baby groupa, nice shark on a pinfish (caught courtesy of the Gulp) a lady and a big cat. Pretty slow today probably due to the lack of movement out there. Beautiful day on the water and home safely, so no complaints.

Tough fishing when its that hot and that calm. Way to make it work.

I took the kayak out off bird island and hooked a great red. I was pulled around a bit before it gave me the slip. Besides that and afew ladyfish, there was plenty of heat. Bring on the fall!

It'll get better. This heat, with no wind, is terrible.
What was I supposed to do today?
