A unique website dedicated to fishing information from Florida's Northern Big Bend. This includes the area from the Econfina River west to the Apalachicola River
I have been asked if it would be possible to do a fish fry for the Anchorage in Albany Ga. It is a ten month Christ centered treatment program with a pretty high success rate. While I do have some fish in the freezer there is no way I could cover fifty + people. Any help would be appreciated.

We do not have a date as of yet. They have an $1100.00 per month budget for food in addition to what they grow and get donated.
Some of the plantations do give them Venison at times. Any help would be appreciated I know there are some here that may be able to offer other types of aid. Would it be possible to do an annual program where we take them fishing and do a fish fry on the spot when it is over?
Are there any farmers that might could donate a cow for the freezer? In the Albany area they do some barters. Need work done in exchange for some food stuff? While it doesn't have to be done it would be great if it could be. What about a annual fundraiser tournament? Several times per year they do a program with the First Methodist Church in Albany where they feed the homeless and share thier testimonies the next event will be Sunday the 1st of September. Anyone here a recovering addict or alcholic and want to share your testimony and talk about recovery and your faith? Yes the economy is tough right now. Imagine what it must be like to run a program that is entirly done by donations.

The Anchorage is a Christ centered drug and alcohol rehab center 501 (C) (3) over fifty years old having served in excess of 13,000 men. They have made a change in our world one man at a time. The residents have to work and are guided by folks that have been there done that and survived to tell about it. Ever been lost in the dark by yourself? It is hard to know which way to turn. If someone came by that had a light and knew the way out, you just might follow them. That is what recovery is about.
Is the turn off Christ or recovery from addiction?

When? Where? What time? Do you need fish or a cow? How did you get hooked up with this group? Looks like you need to do some wacking and stacking to get some fish.

The Christian portion of the group is no "turn off" for me. Groups like this are the ones who should be doing this kind of work, not government tax funded agencies.
We have not set a date if we combined the two events together on Sept. 1st we could feed the homeless and them that would bring the # up to about 125 to 150 people. Any other date it would be any weekend in the afternoon. If we don't want to do an event fish can be brought there anytime they have full cooking facilities and would be glad to have the fish. They were introduced to me by my wife and I's best freinds that took the man and his wife that run the place on vacation for a week. I spoke to him "Kenny Phillips" yesterday for the first time. As for the cow or fish they need to feed 50 people 365 days times 3 meals and the food budget $1100,00 is less then many families I know so they need every thing all the time. When they pray "give us this day our daily bread" what they mean is if God doesn't provide they won't eat. The cool part is that He does and they do. I did already know about the place I have done prison ministry for years and one of the guys that got out went there and is a better man for it. The system the use is awesome the first four months are intensive work on the grounds many classes meetings and very closely monitered. The next six months you can work off campus and you are helping to mentor the guys that are going though the four month program. I truely believe " you can't lead where you don't go and you can't teach what you don't know."
