Sunday afternoon Scallops- St Marks

Post by bman »

My Bride was still out of town yesterday so I made another run to the coast.
Took my buddy Emmett and his two Kids Scalloping. We were joined by other friends Parker and Adrinne in their boat.
The tide was dead low so the water was about 3' Perfect for the kids.

I'm becoming an expert- still goofy but an expert!
Image

Crazy thing happened on the way in- A keeper Spanish Mac Jumped in Parkers Boat!
Image
We stopped for the kids to chase fiddler crabs- I think that was their favorite part!
Should have kept a bunch for bait!
Image

We picked up our limit in just over an hour-all within 50 yards of where we found them the first time.
I still can't get over how thick they are- Had a great time and will be back again soon!

I had to get all new hooks after my last scalloping trip. They sure do pull good when yo put them all in one bag. Sounds like fun Bman.

Not to derail the thread, but is there anyplace for camping close to St. Marks or a cheap motel for a scouting budget (not in a crack neighborhood)?
