Finally after a week of eating on post...we ventured off post into the unknown....finally as we do most of the time just picking a spot as we ride through the small cities. Really love the culture, I wish America was like this...of what I have seen in Europe all the countries have mom and pop eateries and there always busy.

Anyway met the only english speaking soul in the place - his name was Orlando, I think he thought we were from Panama City, Panama

Great meal and beer and then the check:
One pizza - shared
One large salad - shared
two large beers - chalk only
a water - not chalk
a coke - not chalk

Bill was $38 Euro or $57 American

Holy Sheet Batman Beer and Pizza is da high

Went to the grocery store in the mall - Wine is da cheap - the expensive wine 10 euro has a safety lock that has to be removed when you buy it I got one bottle of red...found some some rum I want as well...also found some bourbon I gotta try to get as well

Went to Tuscany in May and had a blast. The dollar doesn't hold up to good over there, but the wine is cheap and delicious. Enjoy it while you can.

The whole cost of living in Europe is much higher than the US and with the current weak dollar, that situation is amplified.

Thats why we come over there and spend our money.

Chalk in a cultural mecca like Italy seems a bit wrong somehow.
