pond bass (and cat)

Post by DixieReb »

Decided to try my favorite bass pond this morning, started out kinda slow with one keeper and several good hits but misses. Was ready to give it up when on the famous last cast, got a hit, set the hook, and fought a nice hawg to the bank. Weighed 5.5 lbs, on the stringer. :-D Stayed a while longer and it was amazing. Caught 2 more keeper size bass (released) and the strangest one of all, a 2 lb. speckled catfish, :o all were caught on solid black culprit worms! I don't know how many other fish bit and either threw the hook or just blew it out before I could set the hook. They were all in deeper water today, last week they were lined up along the bank chasing shiners. Hey, it's something fun to do and brought back supper for next week's fish fry. Give bass a try, sure you'll like it. :smt004
