Hit OB at first light and paddled out. Bite was good most of the day, first pickup was a 16in trout about 7 he hit and my plug flew out of the water and when it came to rest he hit again and got hooked. followed a few casts later with a 22in red.
Exactly 2 casts later had a nice fish inhale my plug and he didnt fight until he saw the yak, thats when i realized he was a goodun and he ran like crazy. finally got him in and he was a pig. 27 1/2'' and he had inhaled my plug. to my disbelief it was easy to get out and he was released fine. about 30 minutes later had a sail cat get hooked on and he broke off . Caught 3 more reds about 20'' and 2 more trout about 15'' when low tide hit there were tailin reds everywhere and it was fun. should have caught more though... oh well beats anything else on a monday... guess working the weekend payed off!
brown spook jr and chatterbait rig was top rigs for the day
