08-15-08 Econfina

I took Friday off so DeeDee and I could go to Econfina for a little sun and fun. She always hears me talk about how much I enjoy the sunrise when I go fishing so she wanted to see that. I told her she would have to get up at 4:30AM. I couldn't believe that she agreed to it. So, by 5:30AM we are on the road. It took a little longer than I anticipated to get the boat and us in it, in the water. We got to see the sunrise as we rode out the river.



The conditions could not have been better for topwater action. For some reason I have never thrown topwater lures much, but I could not pass this up. So I threw and threw and threw. Finally, pay dirt, first topwater Red. About 21-1/2"



Then another first, scollaping. Figured, what the heck, I'll dive in.



Only gathered enough to toss in with some Alfredo sauce...it was good !!!

I cleaned the scollaps and DeeDee enjoyed the sun....It was good to get her back on the water, good for me too...
