Salt Water Flush

Post by Flint River Pirate »

When you guys clean your boat after a day of fishing in saltwater, how do you do it? I have always just hooked my hose at the house to the motor and let it flush for 10-15 minutes. I have never used any of the store bought cleaners? What do you guys do?

HEY PIRATE, I ALWAYS BACK MY TRAILER DOWN INTO A FRESH WATER LAKE, POND, OR RIVER AND RUN THE GAS OUT OF THE CARB. MAKING SURE THE TRAILER IS BELOW THE LEVEL IT WAS IN SALTWATER. WHEN I GET HOME I TAKE THE PRESURE WASHER AND WASH DOWN THE WINDSHIELD AND THE TOP, SIDES AND MOTOR WELL. I GENERALLY GIVE HER A WAX JOB ABOUT 2 TIMES A YEAR.

I drove mine through a massive rainstorm Saturday and then put it on the hose I washed that thing real good Quitman streets were flooded.
I hope to get a pressure washer soon I usually go to the car wash. Run on the hose is a must every time also.
Yesterday it was taboo today it is normal what the heck will they be doing tomorrow?

I use the salt away stuff when I flush the motor. I don't know that it helps but it can't hurt.
