Run. A Cat. 4 will do unreal damage to the entire area. In 1985, Kate turned the area upside down and I believe the highest wind recorded in Tallahassee was only in the 60 mph range.

I was living in The Oaks of Killearn when Kate made her visit. There were wind gust of 85+ mph. It was the scariest sound I have ever heard.
If any hurricane was dead on for St Marks I run.

If you are on the coast and you don't run to get out of the way of a cat 4 storm, you got some serious screws loose in your head.
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

id pack up both cars with the valuable stuff hook up the boat and hightail it.. i learned my lesson from katrina in biloxi.. in tally i would worry mainly about tree damage.during hurricane george we had a pine fall over 2 of our cars and one on our roof.. it doesnt take much wind to knock a tree down when the ground is soaked.
