Carrabelle NFGFC Tournament Sept. 6, 2008

Post by tin can »

We had 14 teams participate in the Carrabelle tournament.

Thanks to our sponsors, everyone left with a door prize. Congratulations to Katie Showman. She went home with her second Falcon rod this week. Thanks to Jay Evans, Sponsor of the "Badcock And More" mystery fish prize, Chalk and I went home with $100 for weighing in the largest Gaff Top catfish, weighing 4.48 pounds.

Thanks to Larry Cobb and Andy Brunson, everyone had something to eat at the weigh in.

Congratulations to Casey Cook, Pat Irwin, and Brandon Faris for putting another winning limit together.

Our next tournament will be October 4, 2008, headquartered at Jerry's Bait and Tackle.

Yep. We were drifting along, out in the middle of nowhere. I looked ahead of us and asked Chalk, "What is that floating?" We guessed a few things, and when we got closer Chalk said "It's a snake." As we got closer, sure enough, it was a rather large rattlesnake. I said "It's dead." Chalk said "It's head is above water". I said "It's dead". As we got closer the snake never moved. We drifted past the snake. It never moved. Chalk looked back and said "It's head is above water, it's alive." I said "If it were alive it would have moved. Lets go back and you'll see it's dead." We went back close to the snake and it's head and tail came up, and it started rattling. We quickly eased away.

Chalk spent the next two hours looking to make sure the snake had not followed us and climbed up on the back of the boat. :-D

Casey, if you have time I sure would like to see some names with the pictures. I only know a couple of you guys in person. Some of us Georgia boys don't get to hang out with you guys as much as we would like.

Good job Casey  I know (from experience) that it's not easy to be thinking ...hey that's a photo opportunity and capturing it. You did well, and congratulations on your preformance on the water as well. Thanks.
"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".
