Weekend Report for Sept 13 - 14

Post by Talltails »

Wow, what a weekend. Saturday morning Capt. Luke Frazier hopped on the boat with me and we headed to the Ochlocknee river. The winds and sea were still a bit angry from Ike with winds still near cautionary levels. We decided to go soak a little bait anyways, and it was worth it. We caught a pile of reds, trout, drum, and sheepshead in just a few short hours, and were off the water by noon. Thanks for joining me, Luke, I had a good time.

The few trout we did catch were all in the 20" range

Sunday my brother Liam joined me. The weather was a lot better, and so was the red and sheepshead bite. I didn't even get too upset with the douschbaggery a couple boats displayed by blindly running over the bar we were fishing right in front of us. Liam and I caught several nice reds and countless sheepies. The fishing seems to be getting better and better.

Not you IdahoJoe it was the guys in a 17' alluminum boat from GA, that decided that they wanted to fish 10 feet from our boat at 6 am in the morning even though there was miles upon miles of oyster bars to fish.

Nice to meet you too, Idaho. You guys did fine out there. Like Liam said, My problem was the G3 with GA tags that thought the best path through a maze of oysterbars was a straight line on half plane. :smt009

talltails was it a grey G3 from Georgia?? I think I know who you are talking about. He has a place down from me on Mash island. I think he is over towrd the condos not sure. If it is, i saw that same guy run at full throttle and hit the bars off from the left channel marker. His buddy and some big azz cooler flew over the front of the boat. I drove over to them and asked if they were ok, and both of them were swimming around in the water picking up all the stuff in the cooler. They proceeded to get back in the boat fired up the engine and started fishing the bars on the right. It was scary and very dangerous but absolutely hilarious.

Yep that was them. I tried to explain the concept of channels to them earlier in a few select phrases, but they obviously didn't get it. That's freakin' classic
