My teal tags finally came in last Friday, so I am going scouting Friday and more than likely I will be in a pond on Saturday. I had almost 50 in my pond ... a month ago and they left. Remember, while you can shot wood ducks in Florida, you can only shot teal in Georgia.

Good luck!

didn't pull the trigger once!

There were already 5 or six trucks at the landing when we arrived an hour and a half before legal time.
We got to my #1 spot and there was a guy set up about 50 yards from where I really wanted to be.
We ran to my #2 spot and there was someone there also.
So we ended up in a random area of the lake and never had a bird come close.
Only say a few teal flying and only heard a few shots around the lake.

The most frustrating part was that a group of seven or so woodies lit right on top of my #1 spot.
They were out of range for the guys who set up near it so they landed unmolested.

I was tempted to go back this morning but work got the better of me...
Well November is right around the corner!

sorry to hear you didn't knock any down Barry.

We saw probably 50 woodies but not a single teal. We knocked down several but had a tough time collecting them through all the lilly pads and gators. There were so many gators that I never even took Boo off leash. Still a beautiful day and the first birds of the season. It was Boo's 2nd birthday, so I did let him play with the birds for a while....

Glad to hear you had some luck SB.

Sorry for the turnout Bman. That's always the concern with public areas. It about made me stop hunting public waters the past few years.

We shot a limit of woodies on Sunday morning but never did see a teal. I think I'm gonna give it one more shot tonight, if I can get out of work soon enough. This cooler weather is calling me and I left my bow at home. :smt009

November will be on top of us soon enough.

I know where several teal are as well. Their breasts reside in a bag in my freezer. Finally got out yesterday. Not many birds, bur fortunately, we set up where they wanted to be. Quick limits of blue wings. Sure felt nice out yesterday morning and even better today. Of course, now all of the bird seasons are going out. :smt009
