Destin bridge reds
If you want to test your gear, anchor up on the bay side, between crab island and the bridge. Outgoing tide being best, cast a small-medium live pinfish out on a carolina rig with a 50# mono leader and hold on. Flounder are also on fire, if you can find a keeper. Small croakers, finger mullet, and small menhaden, work well. I caught most on carolina rig with 20# flourocarbon leader, but did manage a few on a red 1/4 ounce jighead tipped with minnow. Good luck!!!

There are plenty in the Mexico Beach area right now too. Just look for the diving birds and the acre wide circle of red colored water.
Re: Destin bridge reds
I lived there 16 years and go back on a regular basis, I live in western North Carolina now. I just got back from there, I stayed for a week.

What was the big one? I caught some earlier this year there, but none over 40". That is my favorite place to fish. Nice trip

No matter what, it's a good day.
