It was a great day to go fishing and not to work. I got a call from Talltails to get the kayaks wet so off we went to OB. The sun was coming up out of the water and we already had trout in the yaks on top water. The water was glassy and the tide was coming in across the oyster bars. We caught our fish on top water and I favored the lime green skitter walk this morning. I managed to pick up a few trout above slot and one that was right at 21inches weighed just over 3 lbs. I hooked up with a redfish but lost it when the knot I tied went through the split ring. I have never had that happen before. I left OB and went to join Flounderpounder. I went to the back and picked up a couple of Redfish. I got one that was right at 26” by my guess-timate. I did not bring a net and was going to kick him into the boat and I noticed the skitter walk was below his neck line. When I kicked him in the treble hooks drove into my shin and the red swam off. Luckily the barbs didn’t go in real far and I was able to use a hammer and a crobar to did them out of the bone. Flounderpounder rounded the corner and was in his jon-boat. So I climbed aboard and we drub my kayak over to a trout hole and I picked up a nice 21” Trout. I think FP had a few that measured over 20 but kept one at 23” for his uncle. He also had a nice Red.
The 602:180Z is my token numberr for an online contest. It has to be in my pictures that I turn in for the online tournament at 321Fish.com They have tournaments for a month and some are open to boaters and dock fishermen. This one is a Trout and Redfish tournament and whoever anks in the top 20 wins prizes and raffle tickets. A ticket will be drawn for 2009 Hobie Revolution kayak. Its a kayak fishing tournament with contest from Virginia to Texas. I'm currrently in third but that will change since most Reds are over 35 inches above me.
