A unique website dedicated to fishing information from Florida's Northern Big Bend. This includes the area from the Econfina River west to the Apalachicola River
Where is this? I know on Spring Creek ..Directions from 98.
Jerry's Bait & Tackle wrote:Peer Starr has certainly learned the benefit of living in Spring Creek. That is one of the few hotspots right now. Keeper trout are in the canals. Anglers are catching fish in the main spring. Trout, redfish and sheephead move in and out of that spring constantly. There is a boat ramp at Spring Creek Marina which makes fishing there convenient. It is sheltered from winds making it fishable when weather is inclement. The opposite shoreline from the marina is a good fishing spot all the way to the channel where Oyster Bay begins.
I have that info but it's at home. I can post it tomorrow. Scott at Jerry's had a fishing seminar last Friday night and he handed out directions to all the launches in this immediate area and Spring Creek was one of them. He also talked about the location of the spring too. It was really good - everyone seemed to take lots of notes - makes me want to go exploring! Probably will.
Anyway if you don't get your answer before tomorrow I'll post it.
Thanks, SG....I never heard it called Spring Creek Marina....Looks like its on SR365....I think Littoral posted about a launch there and how to pay...I have been down there just never seen the ramp.

Sea Gurl, I rode by there yesterday, saw the $5.00 sign, but didn't see the mailbox??
There was a brisk N wind, tide at that time should have been +0.5, but it looked mighty shallow just past the ramp. Not sure I could have gotten out even with the trolling motor.
It's very shallow around the ramp. Time your trips with the tides to be sure you have enough water (like you would at the Aucilla).
The area is productive but also very moody. Good fish one day, none (literally) the next. On weekends, it's too crowded for my liking (again, like the Aucilla). But, you can fish when it's windy and head over to Oyster Bay when it's not.
I agree with the directions above but I'd simplify it to:
Spring Creek Hwy south to the end, it's on your left.
Park & somebody will come out to take your $5.
