On Friday, we started the day with Todd went 0 for 5 on hookups

As the morning progresses, our apprentice were busy at work, catching blues and lizardfish.

Alas, by mid morning, they ever so slowly making their way up from junk fish to short trout. At least they're now catching the right species.

Soon after they get the hang of just reel until the drag sings instead of setting the hook, they were putting keeper fish on the boat. Here's Don with a nice one:

Its good enough to eat

Todd follow suite with a hook up

Not a big one but its a keeper

Don's turn to hook up again, but the drag didnt stop singing on this one.

This one didnt feel a trout. Who has the net?????? As always, Dave to the rescue (I was too busy taking pictures)

The end results. Nice one Don!

In between giving instructions, directing traffic on the boat, unhooking fish, catching bait, deciding where to go next, taking pictures, and the list goes on.............. I managed to catch a fish.

We headed in at sunset with a limited of trout plus 3 bonus redfish and a handful of seabass.

On Saturday, Dave again started the day throwing gulp and right away catching a gulp size fish.

To his credit, he also caught some nice trout and this nice red.

By now, Don and Todd were neck to neck with Dave in the catching department. Here's a nice one from Todd.

Todd waiting patiently for the big bite.

and rewarded with the biggest fish for the trip

That a fat 24+''. Good job Todd.

As usual, Dave also pulled in a nice 24'' fish. Though this one was not as fat as Todd's fish, its a great catch nonetheless.

Don didnt do as well on the trout compartment but did catch the surprised fish for the trip.

That's the biggest flounder I ever seen in Keaton area.

Again, we were on the water until right after sunset, heading in with an identitical results as Friday except with a much better quality fish and a bonus flounder.

Its was just Dave and I on Sunday. You cant ask for more drastic changes between Sunday evening and Sunday morning. We were greeted with 20 knots NE wind, and 15 and 10 degrees drop in the air and water temp, respectively. So, anyone knows what would you get from negative tide and 20 knots NE wind???
This

and this

and this (there goes my shortcut route)

and this also

We have heard people say you can always get out from the KB channel even during very low tide. Well I wouldnt bet my money on it knowing what I know now. This pict was taken right in front of the no wake zone. :eek3: I told Dave no way I would go out on this little water.

But the trout were calling out there. On the way out

Looking back at the shore

another shot, from a different angle

what lays ahead

We made it to marker #1 with 2-4' of water most of the way inside the channel. But as soon as we went past Marker #1 we hit ground.
One last picture, of Don the pellican (its an inside joke).

Hope ya'll enjoyed the pictures as much as I did put them together.
