Stradic FH vs FI
What is the difference between the new FI vs the older FH? From what I can find the FH is made in Japan and the FI in Malaysia. Also the FI has a sealed drag system. I looked at an FI at Bass Pro and it didn't feel as smooth as my 10 year old Stradics with the wooden handle. Do you guys know any other differences because the price tag is A LOT higher.

Re: Stradic FH vs FI
I'm sure somebody will chime in with some good info but I can say that I've been fishing Stadic's and Symetre's side by side for years and at $49 for a Symetre (on sale at Cabelas now) there's no way I'd justify over a $100 for a Stradic.
Actually listening to what other people say is worth the effort.
Re: Stradic FH vs FI
The FI has a better handle, the line wraps are very even, great drag system that is bigger than the FH, and lighter. The new 3000 is a 2500 with a bigger spool. I love my FI. THe handle is the biggest improvement, and they take a licking.

FI vs FH
Improved sealed drag system. (now 15 lbs. of drag on the 2500 and 20lbs on the 4000)
Improved anti corrosion components
Slightly lighter
Better ergonomics
I have heard about less people complaining about reel noise with the FIs
Better looking(IMO)
FYI you can buy the Saros for around $30 less. It has all IDENTICAL components and features as the Stradics.

Thats right the FH made a noise once the salt got into it. Made a hissing noise.

The only Stradics I;ve ever used sounded and felt like a hand grinder.

What reels do you prefer RC? I have a new rod I need a reel for....Reel Cowboy wrote:The only Stradics I;ve ever used sounded and felt like a hand grinder.

I like to be on the light side for reels. What model do you suggest for the REDFISH on the Symetre.
Thanks in advance

It's funny, the more I fish the lighter my tackle gets. I remember the days when every bass fisherman used baitcasters with 17 lb test line. Now spinning reels have become so popular. I love them, especially the 2500 size.
