Spring Warrior 12-18-8

Post by beer thirty »

We had a slow morning out there but made up for it when the tide turned. It was so good to be back,it did not matter if we caught at all. Ducks were swarming like locust. Finally able to fish in tight, we caught 7 reds, 7 trout , and a good flounder that gave my partner his first slam.

  Great fish!!! ,,,,,I have a ?, for a while now I hear people saying they caught a slam here in the panhandle of a Trout, Red, and Flounder??? If you go to the IGFA you will see that there is four different slams for inshore fish and the one for the panhandle is a Spotted Seatrout, Red Drum, and Codia which is called the Panhandle Grand Slam then there is the East coast Grand Slam --Trout, Red, Tarpon and the West Coast Grand Slam--Red, Snook, Tarpon and the South Florida Grand Slam--Bone fish, Permit, Tarpon,,,,,,,,I Don't know if there are other type's of Slams but if anyone has more info on it I would sure like to know

There are no fish at Spring Warrior it is a big lie. All those fish were caught at St. Marks on chicken livers.

Also the road to and ramp at Spring Warrior is closed for repair until next July.

Try Keaton or Carrablle!
Yesterday it was taboo today it is normal what the heck will they be doing tomorrow?

Wow, that's a great mess of fish, BT. Those are some BIG trout, that area always seems to hold big ones this time of year. You were right about the tide turning, me and Dad fished Aucilla yesterday and noticed the fish bit a lot better after tide started coming in. Wam, you wouldn't be trying to keep everybody off yer secret fish'in hole, would you?

Nice job, BT. Hope the bite is equally good tomorrow. Also hope everyone else is hunting deer or Christmas shopping, while I'm hoping.

TroutTrent,
There are several other slams recognized by the IGFA, like a Fantasy Slam, Royal Slam, etc. I'd say Beer Thirty and his partner caught the more common type for the Panhandle. Generally, a slam is three species and a super is four. Great day, no matter how you categorize it.

Maybe a little misdirection not a pack of outright lies, oh heck that wasn't true either.
