Can somebody post a description of how to get to the Econfina boat landing? I will be coming from Tallahassee and am looking to exit the river so I am looking for a ramp or landing close to the mouth of the river.

Thanks!

Sorry, but you can't get there from
Tallahassee....unless you head south and hit
98 and head toward Perry...after crossing
Aucilla and passing JR's store watch for
marked exit to right for Econfina...sorry I
don't remember highway number. After right
turn go to end of road and you've made it!
Be a little careful as road from 98 is not
exactly a superhighway! LOL!

The landing is at the end of county road 14, off of highway 98. A couple of miles past the Aucilla River store. Can be difficult to get out at very low tide, like Sunday morning. However, the ramp is in great condition. Watch out for the rocks near the other bank across from the landing. Hope this helps.

Correct. Port.

I would stop at Jerry's if you are coming from Tallahassee. JR's opens later on Sundays. Call Scott at Jerry's this afternoon, ask him if he will have shrimp in the morning. He will open anytime you say you are coming down.

Tom, I almost surely would have reported if I had made it. As my last post indicated, I began to doubt I could go, as the weekend approached. One of my kids had an all day event on Saturday that I had to attend. The weather and family demands combined to nix Sunday. So I didn't make it out. I haven't been out in over a month and am getting the fishin' pneumonia! This weekend is a small possibility. I have noticed the wind and seas are up, by forecast. I have just a 13 footer. But I realize that even with that, I would enjoy just checking out as much as I can over there.

When and if I go, I will report even if all I do is wet a line.
