Mashes Sands 12-19-08

Post by wevans »

Got to the ramp right at daylight and could barely see the dock  waited till about 8 ta give it a try "enjoyed talking with Hammer and his fishin partner" Once I got out and away from land the fog was much better and I laid the hammer down to my starting spot
Image
Trolled a 10 mile circle hitting 15 numbers in it, nothin till the last # "my number one spot" I picked up this feller on it "35 1/2 inches" :-D
Image
Trolled around there just a bit, with no more luck, then headed to the Barge to try it. Lots of boats out there and nothing biting, so I then headed to the Rotary Reef. Trolled it for about three hours, picking up several shorts and getting broke off "my fault" again "thumbing the drag" :hammer: then headed in with the wind and the chop picking up "it was the wife's B'day and I had things ta get ready". Here is the two fatties :smt005
Image
And here is the lure that they have taken from me every trip for the last three trips "Strike Sure is the name"
Image

PS: The water temp was 56 when I went out and 63 when I came in, I caught the one in 32 foot and lost the other in 27 foot

NICE!

I experienced the fog last tuesday where i couldnt see 100yds away. Makes fishing hard when you run at idle speed.

Nice job wevans

I heard you on the radio yesterday and tried to respond. All I kept hearing was Keaton Beach Marina's chatter though

We caught ALOT of shorts also. Few nice keepers, but none like that hoss :o

That plug looks like it has better action than a strech 30. Where did you purchase it?
