Early Christmas gifts at Anky

Post by RHTFISH »

When weather turned so warm last week I began to seriously mope around with shoulders low and chin dragging ground because I knew wife and I were
supposed to attend a work related dinner on Sat evening....neither of us really wanted to go but I was "somewhat" determined not to be the one to back out.
On Thursday I could handle it no longer so I popped THE QUESTION...'do you really want to go to thing Sat night?" The fishing gods smiled and wife said....
"no, you can go fishing." Got on water midafternoon Friday for one of the nicest later day trips ever. Warm, calm and fish biting...as good as it gets
on Dec 19 for sure. Got into reds quickly with some keeper trout thrown in and got the 27" in pic. I know he was exactly 27" because I measured him
several times and the game warden measured him several times when I got in. Whew!

Great buddy Tom Sexton agreed to join me on Saturday. I must saw he is one brave soul....simply because he's the very first person to get in the mudboat with
me since now it is locally referred to as THE SUB and also because we spent hours in zero visibility fog. The fog was unreal but we fished several hours
with GPS as our guide. Midafternoon when we got back to tripod was only time we saw clear view and it was still foggy from the mouth of river west.
Our day only produced one almost slot red and several trout. My Christmas present....the Econfina Survival Kit is pictured below....after I checked the
MM to make sure it was OK. :lick:
