Wandering and wondering at the Warrior

Post by What a mess »

Couple of great days last week and payback today took four and the water was as clear as air most everywhere. It looked like a spring day no wind and no love we fished hard from noon till dark. Caught about twenty five fish but only five keepers the reds were up the creek and the trout were on the flats. Jigs jerk shads and twitch baits and a walk the dog lure. It was never good or easy I had the big red and my BIL got the big trout.

The guy that really caught them moved until he stumbled onto them and finished a two man trout limit in under thirty minutes.

Good laughs good weather poor fishing where we were, you had to find stained water.
Yesterday it was taboo today it is normal what the heck will they be doing tomorrow?

I was out there too. We caught a red first thing out of Keaton. We waited for some water to come in and headed for the warrior. Found the same. Around lunch we hauled buggy to rock island and the water was black. Anything over three feet and you couldn't see. Looked like coffee. We ended the day there around 4:00 with 5 trout to 22" and a 25" redfish. Not a bad day but we had to work for it. Ran the boat 47 miles and had no issues. Had water in the gas the day before. :(
