A unique website dedicated to fishing information from Florida's Northern Big Bend. This includes the area from the Econfina River west to the Apalachicola River
I tie occasionally. Mostly in the spring when I need a special Dahlberg pompano fly that I can't buy anywhere. I pretty much hung it up when I had kids, but they're getting a little older now (4 & 2), so I'll be back to it soon.
Just bought a tfo rod and orvis reel, I use to own an archery shop so I am pretty good at tieing stuff, if it is worth doing i will probably do it. I wish I had not got into this salt water stuff, it has ruined my bass fishing, and my family is mad because I want to move to Florida.
I took about a hundred of my first creations this past weekend and put em in a jar and poured some acetone in it so as to salvage the hooks and eyes..amazing how awful those first ones are starting to look..I usually tie a few during the week..got a little homemade desk I can use from my recliner ....Spent a lot of time this past year trying to improve my skills..
For those that are interested in getting together in Beacon Hill one friday or saturday night to tie some flies and throw some steaks or burgers on the grill, maybe drink a little of chalks liquor, PM me and we'll get the calenders out.
New to the forum. I occassionaly try my hand a tying some flys. My next attempts are coming from this site: http://www.lippedpopper.com/Fly/. I will post a picture as soon as I get one done.
