How do you rig I have a flats boat and it isn't really rigged as a crappie boat but I could troll 4 out the back in Oconee we did slow troll with a jig and bobber it isn't spidered out like my old pond boat / speck rig used to be how deep do you un the jig or minnow I never speck fished a big place like that before. I did go thump some bass up there a couple of years ago.

This time of year with it being cold you're limited at Blackshear.. Some of the best bass fishing I ever did there was in Jan several years ago. Caught em on a pig and jig crawled down the sides of of the channel.....And I do mean crawled ! you gotta fish em slow

With this cold the specks should bunch up in the channels. Think deep, troll deep. You will need to add a #5-7 lead plus jigs. Tip them with minnows.

It will be reel cold.

Think VERY SLOW!!!! I agree with fishing around the park. between the railroad bridge and the 280 bridge fish on the west side. Most of the crappie will be in that channel. Goood luck, I personally wouln't bother going this weekend. Those fish get a serious case of lock jaw, especially after a 17 degree night.
