Re: Fly Tyers post up...
Welcome to the forum Wally

Re: Fly Tyers post up...
I am an avid fly tier who specializes in North West Trout patterns. As you would expect, those tying needs have been minimal since my relocation. I have started getting into the Redfish tying. I can wait to stick one on my 6 weight!

Crawforville- From N.Idaho/W. Montana....Countin the miles to take you up on the tying party, sounds great!.....need to get the CB installed first OVER!
Re: Fly Tyers post up...
I've been tying for over a year now - lately I've been tying Barr flies ("Slumpbuster", "Meat Whistle" - dude has issues!) and slinky fiber/puglisi fiber 'gills.

Re: Fly Tyers post up...
Good looking flys Terrier! I've tried those Puglisi peanut butters but need some more practice.
Re: Fly Tyers post up...
Yeah, those 'peanut butter' patterns can be tough - I tied them way too thick at first. I think the trick is to use small amounts of fiber. Like a clouser, tie them sparse. Also, using curved scissors to trim/shape has helped a lot.

You thought I was joking but .........
My 1st creation, the purple toad. Props to Noleflyfisher for originally showing me the fly and Reel Slow for explaining how to tie it. Thanks guys.

That dog will hunt. Looks really good BD. Feels good when a fish eats one of your own bugs.
Re: Fly Tyers post up...
BD, now how about your recipe for how you tied it.
