Transome saver?

Post by Ratred »

Question, I have a 15' G-3 with a 25 Yamaha 4-stroke. I lost my transom saver the other day and trailered the boat with the motor tilted half way up. Any suggestions on whether or not I should get a new transom saver or just how to trailer my boat and motor?

If your motor clears the ground you are OK. Just get a short piece of 2x6. Raise your motor slightly, place the 2x6 under the motor bracket and lower the motor onto it.
Has worked for us for years.

Keels puts 2 short pieces of pvc over his trim pins and rests them against the motor. That works too.
