A friend and I were floating the flats to the north of Steinhatchee a couple of years back and one of us hooked a short trout. The small trout didn't come through the un-hooking process quite so well and when he was thrown back, he unfortunately stayed on top of the water, eventually floating about 20 feet in front of the boat. We were probably 500 to 600 yards from the shoreline and out of the blue a Bald eagle came in and grabbed the wounded fish. As we were only 20 feet or so from the eagle, we were witness to a marvelous site. This birds legs and talons were enormous..........heck, the whole thing was enormous. If only I had a camera in my hand.

Wow, those pics are amazing! I sure wouldn't want to fight that bird for his fish, did you see the size of those talons? Thanks for sharing.
