Sat 24th Enconfina

Post by sundown »

Got the boat in about 8:30 this morning due to minus tide..still had to be careful heading down the river. Saw where somebody had hit the big rock on the left side past the no wake zone. Must have done some damage to lower unit by the way the rock was scarred.
Using trolling motor and pole we went to a hole in a creek mouth that usually holds fish. In about two hours we had caught a half dozen trout. nothing great and a short red.
Around noon started on up towards Aucilla and throwing a spoon for reds. Wound up with four up to 24". Did get a lot of short strikes and saw a lot of fish following but not taking. Water temp between 48 and 52 most of the day.Weather in general was nice, wind not bad and not too cool. did start to rain about 3 but just a hard drizzle.
Loaded about 4:30 and came on in. Quite a few boats out, especially in the afternoon and quite a few anchored in the river late.
Not the best of days but did catch some fairly decent fish which is a real plus for January. And didn't tear nothing up either! :D

Those are the 2 greatest things you can say.
Glad you got out there and caught some fish.
