Re: In the news.
On this note, I got this forwarded to me today:
(not verified for authorship, but profound nonetheless) "Statements made by the late Dr. Adrian Rogers of Bellevue Baptist church, Memphis, Tennessee:
You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them: and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.
You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."
When I read this, I realize I need to find one of you to work so I can afford to fish all week.
1 Thess. 3:10-11 "... If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat....For we hear that there are some... not working at all, but are busybodies." Reminds me of my days with State government. (Note: does not apply to elderly widows, fatherless children, disabled, and the like that cannot work.)

I'm working on my "I'm sorry I forgot" letter to IRS...I'm also asking them to consider no penalties or interest as my personal stimulus package.
