H2O Anyone????

Post by BAD BEHAVIOR »

After having almost two gallons of water drawn off my fuel tank, I took BB to the Flint to run her. Hammer down straight to 53mph. I start playin with the trim and creeping up on 57mph and motor starts bogging and losing rpm. Still got water in the tank?????? I tried it two or three more times and it only does it when Im running hard. Any suggestions???? Headed back to the shop Wednesday and a little local knowledge would be nice to offer things to check. Thanks Guys.

Is it a Yamaha. Empty the plastic bowl under the cowling and re-prime. Your mechanic should have changed the filter and emptied the bowl, but maybe he forgot.

I had a similar problem last spring. Turned out to be a clogged high speed jet in the carb. Not sure if that applies to your motor or not. Engine would run great until close to top end and then it would just lose power.

BB, you are not going to catch many at 50+ but here's my 2 also. Mine had lots of trash in the tank including sand and water. My underdeck alum. tank was also corroding. My Yamaha 200 had just been rebuilt and behaved exactly as you described. Ran great as long as you didn't call for more fuel at top speeds. You should be able to fix problem w/o going my route. My boat is older and I am doing a complete rebuild. New tank and hoses are installed and beginning new wiring. Check new post. Oh, thanks to BD for tip also.

Probably sabotage since you are now a TV star. Remember, most TV stars come up with a stage name to make it more difficult for those 400 lb women to find them. :smt005 :smt005
