2-28 Reds & Wind

Post by BayGator »

Put in Saturday morning against my better judgement with a stiff 20mph+ wind blowing down the bay and 2 buddies with kitchen passes that were not letting them go to waste. So we put in and head east into a good 3' chop and the first thing to bounce out of the boat was one of my new rigs that might have had 5 trips on it so far. :bang_1 :bang_1 Luckily we were on top of a nice clear sandbar and we found the rod and reel after a short search and rescue mission. Back on track we turn broadside and the wind does the rest as we drift at nearly 10 knots, but the water was clear and it was a pretty day. The first fish came late but was a nice 28" pig at just over 8lbs. according to the boga scale.

Bo hooks up a few minutes later with a nice keeper.

Before he could get his to the boat I got another one to eat a spoon for a double hoook up!

We were back at the ramp and heading to Pepper's for some food and drinks by 1:00pm. It was a good day with good friends even though the wind was really blowing us around.

nice work BG.

They Bay certainly looked better than the other side. Sunday I had to turn on my windshield wipers don riving off the Cape b/c the spray kicking off the rocks at stump hole was crossing the road.
In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. And we will understand only what we are taught.

Team Blind Hog is going to the bottom of the list!!! We were in a 23' Ranger, no way the yellowfin was making it out in that wind!! I sure wish we could have hung some nice 16" trout, the fight is unbelievable!!! :-D :-D
