Another Keaton story 3/7
Partner and I got to Keaton Friday afternoon. We decided to do a little exploring and see if we could stumble across something. We didn't. Caught a couple of reds and couple of trout; but, nothing that was going to help us on Sat. Saturday decided to hit the stand by hole with 2 or 200 other boats. Fishing was somewhat steady once the water started moving. Of course, best fish of the day flipped me the bird and threw my jerkbait at me. My partner tried to pick up my slack; but, we didn't have enough to hang. Really speaks to the competition when 10lbs won't even put you in the top ten. Got to see Mr Keels and his crew put on their fish catching display all day long within spitting distance. Good to see Jackson Keels and Hunter Green lay the whoppin' on everybody.
Had a blast folks, see you next time.

Who woulda' thunk that NFGFC competition would be this good?
The best part is that most of the competitors are the "same old" competitors.
You can sense it in Captain Pat Mcgriffs' talks to our club members at the meetings.
Captain Pat used to talk about 5-6 feet of water and live bait.
Now, he talks about 1-2 feet of water and various artificial baits.
I personally am very proud of the NFGFC group. Most everyone is catching quality fish now.
Our newcomers will be catching quality fish soon.
