Three months of getting settled in after the move to SW Kentucky with the boat still in FL and then another three months of COLD weather = serious cabin fever. I am making the transition from Big Bend Flats to Bass fishing on Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley. Hooked up with a fella that grew up fishing the lakes and is an accomplished Bass angler. Yesterday was the first day the weather broke and we hit the lake in the afternoon. Beautiful day in the mid 60's. Water temp was in the mid 50's so the bass hadn't quite turned on yet but between the two of us we managed 6 largemouth, 1 hybrid, and 5 black drum. Not too bad for three hours of fishing. Nothing of size really, other than one of the drum going about 10 lbs. Hard jerk baits and Rattle Traps were the ticket. Blue seemed to be the color of the day.
It was my first time on Kentucky Lake. If you ever have the chance to fish them then by all means take it. Beautiful water and very fishy places. It was also the first time I had been 72 MPH on the water. Dang...he's got a fast boat. 20ft Bullet with a Merc 225 Pro Team. It'll move. Felt like I was in a time warp.
Loving reading the reports and living vicariously through BBF.net up in Kentucky. Spring Break is coming and we're headed that way soon! Thanks for posting guys!

Re: Good Times on Kentucky Lake
Great to hear from you too SR.
GB - LBL and Kentucky Lake are some beautiful places for sure. We had two or three snows this year but nothing big. The ice storm was the bad spot this winter. It really effected a lot of people and Lake Barkley State Park is still closed from all of the downed timber. Turkey Bay is the only ramp open at LB right now. We put in at the KenLake ramp yesterday.
If the wind doesn't pick up to much I hope to hit it again on Friday.
