Tom, would a straight line be the suggested route or are there some obstacles that need deviation to avoid?? Is the Rock Island area in the way? etc.

I'm pretty sure when I plotted it, I plotted it to the south around rock island. Let's say this, it's at least 24.5 miles.

Yeah... I agree with the mileage at least per Chart Navigator plus or min a tenth or two. Was just wondering if there were any shallow spots that aren't obvious .

I thought about it, but that is a long haul. I might try to learn Keaton instead. We have that little tournament I told you about and it is out of Keaton. I am just an Econfina fan.Reel Cowboy wrote:About a 12 pack, give or take.Flint River Pirate wrote:How far of a run is it from Keaton Beach to Econfina by water?

It's not that bad. I want to fish Ecky some more this year and learn it a little better.Flint River Pirate wrote:I thought about it, but that is a long haul. I might try to learn Keaton instead. Dave, you just need to learn Keaton so you can take me.
We have always done so well at Econfina that I can never make myself drive any further.

...just pulling his chain a little....I doubt he takes much I say seriously (which makes him smart)!
Truth be known, I'm convinced there's an underwater mountain range in that area composed of family sized and larger boulders!
What makes it even worse is that it is a good place to hang into some nice tarpon when they arrive. They really seem to congregate in that area.
