3/7 Keaton tourney

Post by Bow'd Up »

Well.......just spent 30 minutes typing a nice long post only to get kicked off of the site and lost everything that I typed. Now that I'm good and pissed, here goes the condensed version. Friday, me, myself and I headed south and fished my arse off with everything that I knew to chunk with no love. Managed to catch nothing the whole day. My wife opted not to bring Owen Friday night so I would have to fish by myself again Saturday. Enjoy some fine food and fellowship at the fishfry. Headed out Saturday and managed to catch a nice 24" redfish first thing on soft plastic. Managed to lose probably a 25" trout that smashed a spook in 1.5" of water. 30 minutes later, lost another nice trout on top water. Tried another spot, no love. Spot 3, hit a bar, front side 18"trout on soft plastic jerk. Moved to the back side of the bar, dropped the power pole, and in 5 casts, 19" trout and 20.5" trout on soft plastic jerk. Fished around the same area with no luck. Moved back to the opposite side of the bar that I had just caught 3 trout, dropped the power pole and had lunch. Got the rod back out and in 2 casts, 17.5" and 18.5" trout. Me, myself and I headed back the weigh in with 9.90lbs of trout and a 5.13lb red. Thanks Tom Keels for helping me get loaded up Saturday. Enjoyed it guys......ready for the next tourney.
