Keaton Tourney Weekend

Post by BAD BEHAVIOR »

Sorry for the late report! Started the day out with Ct meeting me at the cabin @ 5:30. On the water at Keaton around 8:30. Fished around shallow for about an hour and BAM!!! 22.5" trout
Image
Fished around for a little bit more BAM!!! 19.99" trout
Image
Got on the reds and Ct puts a nice Red in the box
Image
start looking for a pig trout in a little different water and much shallower when all of a sudden BAM!!!! 25" pig trout

Image
finished the day with a really nice bag of trout between 11 and 12 lbs. really stoked for the tourney the next day.
Started day two in really shallow water. Actually ran in past TC and Chalk on accident  . Sat the Maverick down in less than a foot of water and began fishing. It was a red fish spectacle. Everywhere we looked reds tailing. Many casts made, Ct finally hooks up with a nice red.
Image
As the tide comes in we begin to feel the squeeze from about 87 other boats so we pick up and head to spot number two. Fish into our number and Ct puts a nice 19 " trout in the boat. Turn around and head back to the spot after a long drift and realize we were actually on the bass Boys honey hole. We watch them put fish after fish in the boat and decide to go to spot number three. We head in and realize we have some jackazz wade fishing in our spot. This guy is in a blue dickies coverall worksuit and white oyster boots. To complete his outfit, he pulls out an Alfred Hitchcock pipe and goes to tooting away on it. I look at CT and say ,"this must be tourney day!"
Image

He wades around the boat like a lab trying to find a duckboat. He then proceeds to the bank kicking the water up like Billy banks. He pulls his coveralls down and takes a leak. :smt009 :smt009 he then high steps it back to within 20 yds of the boat and goes to chunkin and windin again. One question, who the hell wade fishes in 56 degree water???
Image
Moron taking a leak!!
We head to the weigh in with only a small bag.
Too bad there wasnt a pot for most spots, this one had 15!

Sunday: redemption.
If any of you guys have ever fished with me, you know not catching fish puts me in a bad mood. I get home and go to unhook the boat and decide ,BB aint going out like this! Back to good ol Icky sunday around 10. Fished til four and caught 25-30 trout, 6 reds. Biggest trout and red bith 23"

Feelin better about the weekend, i haul the Maverick back to the cabin, wash her down and clean a pile of fish. Finished the night with some grilled trout tacos :lick: and a few cold  . Really enjoyed hanging with everyone and great job on the tourney Casey! kudos to everyone who once again made Keaton a ton of fun!!

Dolphinatic, were those your keys laying on the post by the ticket box?

BB and I saw them there, and told another guy looking at them to maybe carry them to the store so they could be found.

And BB, like I said in my post, you went right, we went left. Looks like we made a wrong turn. But wasn't it a gorgeous day last Sunday.
