Keaton, 3/14 Inshore
Fished inshore 3/14 out of Keaton with Breambuster, Breambuster Jnr, and Paul W. Based on the good reports we have heard coming out of Keaton the last week we anticipated a good day. Apparently we weren't the only ones cuz the place was packed. Water temps in the channel were 67 and warmed to 71 during the day. We also had a good mid-morning to early afternoon rising tide, all indicators of what we thought would be a good bite. However, after 8 hrs of hard fishing we only wound up with 6 keeper trout. All good fish, but not quite what we expected. The highlight of the day was Calvins 27" Redfish which he brought in masterfully. The fish had a lot of fight and Calvin had to work it around the drift sock a couple of times. We had a good bite from 11:30 to around 1:30 with a fairly strong incoming tide assissted by an onshore wind, but other than that we struggled. I guess it didn't help with the large numbers of boats out there. But I guess that's fishin. Here's a shot of the proud Angler

Nice fish, Calvin. That's getting it done.
