Steinhatchee 3/16 and 3/17

Post by 4C's »

Fished hard Mon. and Tues. Pepper fish, Bowlegs wash, and Rock Creek on Mon. Dallus, Big Grassy and 9 Mile Bank on Tues. Fished from less than 2 ft. out to 8 plus. Keeper trout were few and far between; enough shorts to keep it interesting. The change in weather had the fish confused... or maybe it had me confused. Most trout from less than three, spainish at the bank, saw sheepshead from the reef and beyond , and blacks and pinks from outside. Did not talk to nor see anyone who had slaughtered the trout.... maybe they were keeping a low profile if they did. Beautiful two days on the water with my son and a good friend, boat ran well, caught trout, spainish, flounder, one blue, and watched a tail hooked ray (3 footer) give a 5500 a a workout... until it realized it was hooked. No complaints.
