Thinking of a New GPS

Post by Charles »

Thinking of a new GPS. Have had a Garmin GPSMAP 76 for about eight years. One of the buttons popped off today, and I lost the cable to connect it to my computer a long time ago. Have talked to Garmin in the past about reworking this unit and they want a flat-rate fee of $100, plus whatever a cable costs, I haven't priced them. I'm thinking since that's 1/4 the price of a new GPSMAP 76CSx, and since this unit is so old, it's not worth it. I also think I want another handheld unit for use in the kayak, canoe, on the bike, and on foot. Leaning heavily toward the 76CSx.

Thoughts?
Ideas?
Suggestions?

You don't get the same unit back from Garmin, it's either one they have already refurbished or a new one :smt004 if it has to be repaired, ya can't beat the price from them   just send it off AND buy ya a second one "make sure the cable will work with both" :smt004
