Anybody used a Supercaster?

Post by Harmsway »

I've been eyeballing U.S. Reel's Supercaster Spinning reels. Large diameter spool and all sounds good, maybe too good. Anybody used one? Like it?

Had a very picky customer itching to get one, after the long wait they put us and him through he finally got it and says it will cast very far with little force.

Watch it JT, RCG has 2 of them. They make a baitcaster as well.
She likes them, they hold a lot of line and so far so good as far as durability goes. I don't care for the handle, it's a little small for my taste but different strokes I guess.

I have had one for a while, the newer ones may be alright, but I have not been impressed with mine. It was nice out of the box, and did seem to make casting long distances easier, but they are frail and not very durable. The one I have is currently out of commision. Mine is the 230sx? If you fish hard, I wouldn't recommend them.

Sounds like it was designed in America and made in China.

As far as spinning reels go, I like the 5- bearing Cardinal made by ABU. It sells for about $39.00 and fishes good. And I fish mostly spinning reels.Haven't used a Supercaster yet. Kinda sounds like mixed reviews on it. :-?
