St. Marks Fishing 3-20-09

Post by lordsfisher »

Went out from the lighthouse today from 8 to 1 pm. There was a large school of bait off the lighthouse with pelicans forging. We manuevered into position to see if we could pick up something, and then a boat ran too close and scattered them. Headed east and fished flats and creeks. Super windy at first then, switched to an east wind and was quite nice. We caught three short trout on the flats. In the creeks caught several trout and flounder. It was cool seeing aligators guarding nests (?) up on the banks and watch them run in as we went by. I wouldn't be one of these guys that wade fishes the banks of the creeks. Overall, it was steady action. Largest trout was 22". We kept a few in pic.
