BIG Crappie
This is a possible "world record crappie" caught in a Crisp County, GA pond. Reports are the fish is around 7 pounds. Not sure if it is legitimate but I have heard the same story from several folks.

I think it is fake but I have been sent that pic 6 times today. Several people think it is real. For the record, I think it has been photo shopped.

Re: BIG Crappie
That is what I was thinking. The fish looks clearer than the guy like he is 30ft behind the fish and the fish is right in front of the camera. It looks like it is hanging from a string and the guy put his hands in position to look like he is holding the fish. That is why I think it is fake, but I could be wrong.birddog wrote:That thing would weight 12-15 lbs. if it were real.

Re: BIG Crappie
Look closely, the fish is hanging from a string or wire in the foreground and the guys hands are not even touching the fish but are together behind the fish. It's a photographic "miracle". I haven't, but you could probably photoshop it and see this more clearly. Trick photograhy... not even the marvels of modern technology. The "crab" crawling around FRP's signature line is a better gimmick.

Go to crappie.com and look at the Georgia forum. Am quite sure it has been photoshopped. One of the crappie.com forum members lives on Lake Blackshear and has not heard about it locally.

Re: BIG Crappie
What size would that hook be... 20/0 !?!?!??!

Re: BIG Crappie
My two cents. Unless the record has changed, it is held by an ederly woman from Macon,Ga. It was caught near the city limits from an area where dirt was removed to use building I-16 and can be seen alongside the road. Not the fish, the pond. She ate the fish.
I think it was a little more than 5lbs. She may not have ate the whole thing at one sitting.
