I have a boat that will fit your needs and your wallet:) I hate to let it go, but I've got to take care of some other financial obligations. It is a 2000 Proline 23 SU (Sport Utility), with a Yamaha 200 HPDI (low hours) and a 2007 aluminum tandem axle trailer. It is perfect for inshore fishing and fun. To me there seems to always be comprimise on this issue.. I have a 18' fish n ski bass style boat with a 175hp merc.. good for watersports,fast(60+) and good fishing boat(minus carpet) but I can only venture out on nice days.. if the forcast calls for over 3ft seas I stay at home... one thing I hate about mine is the carpet.. it is the devil when/after fishing.. it suits me well for now but i find myself sitting at home or fishing rivers/lakes when I want to fish the flats on less than ideal days.. If i could do it all over I would get a dual console sea pro or similar or a centerconsole deck boat with a v6 outboard.. but i wakeboard as much as fish so I need alot of power to weight.. I was in the same situation, looking for a versatile, family friendly boat to fish flats, offshore, scallop, tube, etc. As a Financial Advisor, I tell my clients: ALL Investments are trade offs. Boats are no different. We settled on a 21 ft Sea Pro 210cc. The deep v, not the bayboat. Pro's: Lots of room, handles the sloppy stuff offshore pretty well for a boat it's size, nice high gunnels that keep the little ones INSIDE the boat, with a 200hp Opti it has plenty of git up and go, drafts about 18-20 inches loaded so I can get fairly skinny. One big downside is this boat sits too high for a trolling motor so I am limited to drifting the flats or anchoring, which sometimes is not what the Dr. orders. All in all, very happy with it, especially since the kids are with 75% of the time. Just my 2 cents.
